Rafiabad 10 Nov (KNB): PDP legislator from Rafiabad assembly segment Yawar Mir expressed his tremendous grief over the loss of horticulture sector in Rafiabad due to untimely november snowfall. He visited different villages of his constituency and directed the concerned departments to remain alert.
MLA Rafiabad Yawer Dilawer Mir directed Horticulture officials and district administration to deploy scientists and experts to assess the losses including future fruit-bearing capacity and age factors of partially damaged trees. Besides, he also stressed on technical support by the experts for binding of damaged trees for their recovery.
Mir said the apple growers are in distress due to the huge losses inflicted on their apple harvest and apple trees due to the snowfall.
He also added that apple growing is the main source of economy in Rafiabad, the snowfall has inflicted maximum damage to the growers.
MLA Rafiabad Yawer Dilawer Mir while talking to Kashmir News Bureau expressed pleasure over the assurance by the governer to compensate the loss hit farmers and assured the people of Rafiabad that he will seek all possible help from higher authorities for early compensation to the affected growers.(KNB)
